CAPSTONE PROJECT: HO-HO-HOLIDAY FAIR

On December 13th, senior Casey Herrmann, hosted the Ho-Ho-Holiday Fair as her Capstone Project. The event took place at the Best Western Inn on Midlothian Turnpike. The event aimed to give families of a local neighborhood a joyful holiday experience.

A variety of games, crafts, food and more helped to create a fun atmosphere for the kids and families who were able to attend. Kids enjoyed themselves at stations, whether decorating ornaments, making gingerbread houses, getting their picture taken at the photo booth, or other activities. Games, like Pin the Nose on Rudolph and The Snowman Slam Game, provided another way to have fun. Delicious snacks and drinks were set up outside of the party, and a tree adorned with wrapped presents stood outside as well.

Due to the generosity of a Bon Air Elementary parent, Casey was able to get Hasbro toys donated to her cause. During the event, Santa made an appearance decked out in a full suit. After making rounds to all the kids and getting pictures taken with some, he went to the tree and delivered a gift to each child. Overall, the Ho-Ho-Holiday Fair turned out to be a huge success. Kids and their families experienced holiday cheer and formed a sense of community. Casey was beyond pleased with the outcome, saying "I'm so happy seeing my vision come to life. I can see how excited the kids are by their expressions, and that makes all the work worthwhile". She would like to thank Mrs. Murray (her advisor), her volunteers, and all the families at Bon Air who contributed in any way to her.
