ESOL/Lship Friendship Circles

The International Relations Committee is thrilled to share that our Friendship Circles, with the students from the Center for Leadership & International Relations and the ESOL specialty programs, have begun for the 2015-2016 year. Our Friendship Circles are being developed to bring awareness, appreciation, and friendship across many diverse cultural landscapes within our school.

On Friday, October 30th, 50 James River High School students gathered together for our first Friendship Circle get-together. Participants met during AEP in the closed commons and were introduced to their new friend by finding matching pieces of Halloween candy wrappers. New groups of friends gathered in teams and got to know each other better by participating in a few fun activities like a mummy-wrapping contest and a Halloween candy buffet line! The morning was a fabulous first event and we all enjoyed getting to meet and know our new friends better. Thank you to all of the Leadership families that sent items in to help make this event such a great kick off celebration.

Our next monthly event is planned for Friday, November 19th!
