CAPSTONE PROJECT: STUDENT VS FACULTY FIELD HOCKEY GAME
On October 8, 2015, the 2nd annual Student vs. Faculty Field Hockey Game was held to raise money for the Carrie Monroe Roarty Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is given each year to one senior player on the field hockey team who best exemplifies the courage, kind nature, and competitive spirit of Mrs. Roarty. The fund was started last year by Mrs. Slade Gormus and Mr. & Mrs. Monroe, Mrs. Roarty’s parents. However, the event to raise money for the fund was started by Camryn Fitzgerald.
The game this year had 21 participants from the varsity field hockey team and twelve from the faculty. It was an interesting game with the teachers putting two goals on the board, but ultimately the students took home the win with six points. But most importantly through ticket sales, donations, and concessions the game raised over $2,600 for the scholarship fund!
