Capstone Project: Jingle Bells

Jingle Bells took place on Wednesday, December 18th and Thursday, December 19th at three nursing homes in the Midlothian community. On Wednesday, we visited Ginter Hall South Assisted Living to celebrate the holidays. We kicked things off with our awesome volunteers by playing a couple games of holiday BINGO. Then, we passed out gifts to the residents followed by singing several holiday songs with the residents. On Thursday, we started the day with Robious Middle Schoolers at Morningside Assisted Living. This event was a field trip for the students and they got to deliver their gifts they bought to the residents while mingling with them. In the afternoon, we celebrated at The Laurels of Willow Creek. This event ran very similar to the one at Ginter Hall South. The three events went extremely well thanks to the help of our wonderful volunteers, advisors, and activities directors. The smiles on each resident's face brought immense joy to everyone involved in this heart-warming Jingle Bells Capstone Project. As Joanna Shaw said, "you really brought joy to the elderly and I was blessed to be a part of it!".
